Patio Party

Picking a patio design can be a difficult decision. Your choice will largely depend on the size of your space and budget. During your decision making process, there are a few things to consider.

1.Curves are beautiful!

Don’t feel like you have to stick with a boring square. Incorporating a curvy interesting shape into your landscape can be both aesthetically appealing and functional. Summit Concrete can help you pick a beautiful shape for your large or small patio.

2. Add a stamp or design.

Concrete stamps can mimic almost any building material from wood to natural stone or brick. Summit Concrete can give you limitless choices. Some of our favorites are Ashlar Slate, Pennsylvania Avenue Herringbone Brick, and 6 inch wood plank. 3. Add a border.

You can add a border to help define your patio and give it a dressier look. A border can be created using a simple stamp or color to outline. Patios, with a complex stamp, look great with a border. The stamp does not reach the edge of the design. Summit has done numerous patios using borders for accentuation.

4. Be generous with space.

When designing a patio, make sure you account for your patio furniture. Give yourself at least 10 feet for an average patio table and chairs. Remember that pouring a larger patio may cost more but will save you from expanding in the future. It is important to be able to enjoy your space and have some room for foot traffic.
