The Benefits of a Stamped Concrete Patio

Aside from the endless selection of exquisite designs and classic looks, stamped concrete offers a wide range of benefits for any homeowner. Thanks to its natural, authentic appearance, stamped concrete easily blends in with existing stone, tile, and patterned concrete adding more texture to your space. Summit Concrete uses a staining and highlighting techniques that mimics real stone, tile and wood.

Stamped concrete is also much more affordable than natural stone. Installation is quick, and can sometimes be completed in a day or two. Concrete also requires less maintenance. The lack of joints and spaces means there’s no place for weeds to grow. Maintenance is as easy as sweeping and washing surfaces to remove dirt. It’s simple, and with regular upkeep (sealing), your stamped concrete patio design should last for decades.

Aside from the obvious dollars and cents savings, here are other limitations of natural wood and stone as compared to stamped and stained concrete.

  • Concrete floors don’t trap mold, mildew, dust, bacteria, allergens, or moisture like hardwood floors or sand.
  • Concrete floors can save an average of a $1 per square foot per year in maintenance.
  • Real stone and wood are natural products so you are limited by their nature-created colors, patterns and shapes.
  • Flagstone and slate are sedimentary rock, meaning that it’s composed of many different layers that can deteriorate and flake over time.

Take a look at Summit Concrete’s website for pictures and work we have created. We would love to work with you or your designer to install the perfect hardscape for your outdoor space.
